HYGIENE Oral Pathology CE- January 13th, 2017

HYGIENE Oral Pathology – January 13th, 2017 | 2016-17 Hygiene Courses | School of Dentistry

Dr. Bryan Trump – “Oral Pathology for the Dental Hygienist” (9 am – 10 am)

This presentation will cover the most common oral lesions seen in dental offices. It is intended to be an interactive course involving problem-solving and critical thinking.

Dr. Jerald Boseman – “Be a CBCT Super Hero: Unlocking Your 3D X-Ray Vision” (10 am – 11 am)

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) images provide an unprecedented opportunity to radiographically view structures in the head and neck region. Knowing how to manipulate and visualize these images gives the operator powerful tools for diagnosing abnormalities, evaluating TMJ health, discovering sinus related issues, treatment planning implants, orthodontic tooth movement, and more. In one short hour learn how CBCT images are produced, how to recognize what you are looking at when viewing an image, how to do basic manipulations of an image, how to use a CBCT image to produce a panoramic or cephalometric view, how to scan a volume looking for pathological changes, and what to do with that CD the specialist sends you after taking a CBCT image on your patient. Properly utilizing CBCT technology will make you a “super hero” in your patients’ eyes.
